Globe Institute offers a Certificate Program and a full Associates Degree Program in Sound Therapy and Healing -- the study of the effect of sound on human beings physiologically, psychologically, emotionally and spiritually. The Certificate Program is the first semester of a four semester Associates Degree Program.

The Certificate program is a comprehensive curriculum designed to provide students with a broad perspective on this expanding industry, enabling them to focus on their areas of interest. The Degree program then goes deeper into each of the areas of study with additional classes on Research, Clinical Ethics and extensive time practicing on clients. The Certificate gets you to the point where you can utilize a variety of sound healing techniques, whereas the Degree program trains you to be a master Sound Therapist.

The overall program is divided into five areas:

The core courses give you an understanding of the basic structure of sound, and how sound can be used for various intentions --physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. We look at the history of sound healing and where the future is leading. We begin with the physics of sound, resonance and the harmonic structure of sound. We do a thorough examination of the physiology of the body and it's relation to the emotional and spiritual bodies -- and they work with sound and energy. We also explore the use of sound to bring people into various states of consciousness and shift individuals into particular brainwave states, such as delta, theta, alpha and gamma.

The classes on Inner Awareness are about doing your own inner work. The clearer of a vessel you are, the cleaner the energy that you transmit when working on people or clients. This work is about releasing deep patterns emotional and mentally. It's about healing yourself physically. It's also about learning how to use love and spirit in your work. As they say, "Spirit is much smarter than we are." As you experience these techniques for yourself, you also learn how to use them to help others heal themselves. We look at the structure of Music and Rhythm and experience how they can be used for healing, life enhancement, and raising consciousness. We then embark on many experiential and transformative workshops using sound and intention -- including those that combine sound with movement.

The classes on Natural Acoustic Instruments focus on using the Voice, Crystal Bowls, Tuning Forks, and a full range of other instruments for healing and raising consciousness. We particularly focus on how to use the voice for healing others and how to set sacred space. We practice toning, chants from all over the world, the power of mantra, and overtone singing. We also focus on the various types of tuning fork sets, and how to use them in a healing session.

The classes on Sound Consciousness and Spirituality are designed to give you an deeper understanding of how healing occurs, and what higher consciousness is in the first place. We look at how everything is connected at the quantum level, mathematically, and spiritually -- sound, music, color, light, geometries, chemistry, physics, consciousness and spirituality -- and how you can add these components to a Sound Healing session. By studying the correspondences between all of these areas we see the interconnectedness of all human beings to each other, to nature and to the universe. Understanding things at a deeper level helps you to be more in alignment with the true nature of reality. The more you are in alignment with reality of nature, and the natural flow of spirit, the more powerful your sound work will be.

Students take all this information into the lab where they begin their own exploration of the effect of sound upon themselves and others. In the Sound Healing Labs we play with various technologies that give us a glimpse of how sound is affecting us physiologically. We also practice creating and performing treatments on each other -- and on ourselves.

Each student receives a 300 page Reader. This Reader is an amazing collection of materials from all of the Instructors -- there is no other document quite like it on the planet.

PS101 36 Hrs $600	Sound Therapy and Healing Overview 12 Classes This Course covers the full perspective of everything going on of the field of Sound Healing and Sound Therapy. It gives you a good overview of the basic structure of sound and how it can be used for meditation, relaxation, learning, productivity, healing and raising consciousness. We also look at the history and ethics of music and sound healing. We begin with the basic concepts of Sound Healing including the Law of Resonance, Entrainment, the Harmonic Structure of Sound, the effect of different Volumes on people, and the powerful effects of Phase Cancellation on us physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Steven Halpern brings his years of experience and information gathering to the class. Erik Larson explains Cymatics, the visual patterns that sound creates in matter, including water in our bodies. Erik also brings in the Cymascope so you can see your voice visually. We also discuss how Voice Analysis systems work and we perform Voice Analyses on each of the students. Matt Kramer demonstrates the Voice Mapping system. We look at the importance of tuning systems based on nature. And, we go through all of the archetypal healing frequencies that have been used since the beginning of time -- from 1 – 400,000 Hertz. We discuss binaural beats and how they entrain the brain into different brainwave states (gamma, alpha, theta, delta and subdelta), and synchronize the left and right brain. We than look at all of the techniques for releasing stuck emotions with sound. These techniques are extremely important, because many say that 50% of disease is as a result of stuck emotions. We discuss how nature sounds heal and we listen to the secret world that you find when you slow them down electronically. Nature is the most amazing sound healer of all. For those taking the full Certificate Program, this class is like “homeroom” for all of the other classes. PS100L 21 Hrs $350	Sound Therapy and Healing Labs 7 Classes The Labs are mostly an extension of the PS100 Overview Class above; however, some exercises include information and skills learned in some of the other classes. PS110 6 Hrs $100	BioPhysical Model of Mind, Body and Spirit 2 Classes The human body is a remarkable symphony of matter, energy, information and consciousness. While modern medicine and biology have focused almost exclusively on the dense, material aspects of the body (bones, muscles, organs, nerves, etc.), ancient traditions have always understood that all the aspects of our existence are inseparable. As our culture moves slowly toward a “new” paradigm of mind-body holism, for thousands of years these traditions have taught that there is no connection between mind and body because there is fundamentally no separation between them – therefore, no connection is needed. Body and Soul will explore many conventional notions of the body – including important concepts from standard anatomy and physiology – but from the unique perspective of how the body is organized as a physical expression of consciousness. PS120B 12 Hrs $200	The Sound of Love 4 classes A truly transformative workshop designed to open your heart. You will learn sound techniques for connecting with people from a heart center, creating more intimacy in relationships, and connecting to spiritual love. In this unique 2 day workshop you will use sound to open up and access deeper levels of connecting through love. This workshop will open your heart to others and spirit (love from above or within). When you reside in your heart with one another a resonant field is setup that not only transforms your every communication, but also adds to a planetary resonant field that affects the entire planet. PS130A 18 Hrs $250	Inner Music Theory 6 Classes This class covers the fundamentals of music theory with an emphasis on how each aspect affects human beings on all levels. The course uses creative techniques to help students acquire a deeper understanding of the nuances of intervals and musical composition. The course uses the harmonic structure as the basis for the exploration of the underlying meaning of musical intervals. With a basic grounding in the terminology and mechanics of music we will explore how to apply emerging knowledge and ideas in Psychoacoustics to actual pieces of music and live healing sessions. PS130C 6 Hrs $100	Rhythm, Sound and Healing 2 classes This course will provide an experiential and conceptual introduction to rhythm and its role in healing. You will experience and learn about the basic building blocks of rhythm and sound, and gain an appreciation for their effects upon human perception and health. In this course, you will learn why rhythm and sound facilitate healing, as well as some practical applications of how to integrate them into your healing work. PS140A 15 Hrs $250	The Healing Voice 5 Classes You will learn a technique for using your voice for healing. You will learn the wide range of sounds that can be made with the voice and their effects. But most importantly, you will learn how to connect to spirit and trust that spirit will create the sounds in your voice that are most needed. We will also discuss and practice techniques for holding your own field so as not to take on the energy being released by the client. You will come away with a powerful skill for helping yourself and others. We base the sound healing work on two assumptions: a) To be centered, sensitive and responsive, we must be familiar with different feeling states, and learn how sound, energy and intention can surrender into a self-aware state. b) To become conscious with sound, we must develop physical/sensory recognition of subtle changes and acquire a relationship with the inner landscape through Spiritual attunement. PS140B 3 Hrs $50	Tuning Fork Treatments 1 Class An energy-based non-invasive treatment that is similar to acupuncture. The sound waves of the forks vibrate and travel deeply into the body along energy pathways, affecting human physiology and reaching places not easily accessed by traditional medicine. Applying the forks stimulates and balances the body's physical and subtle energy field to promote healing and inner harmony. Instructor: Randy Masters Individual 3 hour class available
PS140C 6 Hrs $100	Sacred Voice 2 classes The voice is the ultimate healer, self contained within our sacred body. We will explore what we can "hear" when we truly listen… and then re-sound with it. We will discuss how to use the voice as an intentional healing form and how to therapeutically focus the voice for chakra balancing, emotional clearing, and relaxation using gongs, drums, shruti box and chimes. Exercises utilizing multiple modalities will engage our self expression and break through perceived limitations and inhibitions. We will learn to access the sublimated pure tone through the vocal exercises developed with Rudolf Steiner (“Uncovering the Voice method”). Sessions will include improvisation and a creative experiential format that allows for discovery and joy in the singing process. Our goal is to access the "healing moment" through our vocalizations. PS140D 18 Hrs $300	Toning, Chanting and Mantra 6 classes When used with intention, our own voice can be a miraculous healing tool. It is a primordial pathway into our body and soul. In this workshop we will explore how sound vibrates our inner body. With toning techniques, we will experience where sound resonates and how to use that vibration to massage from the inside out, clearing the chakras, relaxing the body and releasing old outdated imprinting. We will learn chants from several ethnic traditions and feel the commonality and differences of rhythm and pulse. Through Vocal Meditation we will discover how to create our own sacred chant.
