David Gibson has written the top selling book in the field of Sound Healing, “The Complete Guide to Sound Healing.” www.CompleteGuidetoSoundHealing.com David’s music is in Hospitals around the country including Massachusetts General Hospital and University of California Medical Center. With over 60 CD’s our catalog of music is the top selling in the field. Globe Institute is the top College in the field of Sound Healing for the last 10 years. The Institute has an active Sound Healing Treatment Center where we try out different types of treatments. Students also practice in the treatment center and we actively track the effectiveness of every treatment done in the center. CLICK HERE to see our full selection of tables, chairs, and vibrational tools. For all of our vibrational tools, the sound normally comes from a CD player or other sound source, which is split between the device (for the physical vibration) and headphones, a stereo system, or a 5.1 surround sound system (all are available for purchase, if needed). The volume of the music and the amount of vibration in the table can be controlled separately — both easily adjustable to the comfort level of the recipient. We also can mount transducers or speakers in walls or floors, if desired. The sounds and music that are played during a vibroacoustic treatment are the most important aspects of the sound healing therapy. We are the #1 seller of this type of music because of the experience and techniques developed by David Gibson, the founder and director of Globe Sound and Consciousness Institute in San Francisco. David’s CDs are produced according to ancient and modern science from the field of Sound Healing and Therapy, and years of experience and research on the physics of sound. His music is being used in hospitals around the country (including Massachusetts General in Boston and U.C. Medical Center in San Francisco) for its beneficial effects on the body, mind and Spirit of patients. David is uniquely qualified to create transformative Sound Healing music because of his extensive background in both Audio Recording and Sound Healing. As a physics major at U.C. Berkeley he developed a holistic understanding of the underlying structure of sound. After 40 years of recording and producing music for major artists, he wrote the #1 selling books in both the fields of Audio and Sound Healing — “The Art of Producing,” and “The Art of Mixing”; and, “The Complete Guide to Sound Healing.” David has created music tuned to specific archetypal frequencies that are more readily accepted by the body and known to have specific effects physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Based on this science his techniques include 100% focus of intention (which is embedded in the music), ancient tuning systems and modes, and music tuned to the tempo of specific breath and heart rates. All of his music includes binaural beats specifically calibrated to entrain the brain into a variety of brainwave states. David also uses aspects of the Mozart Effect research to create focus – techniques that use high frequency content and constant change in various musical parameters. On other projects, he uses repetition to put the analytical left brain to sleep so the creative right brain can take over. Information from the research of Alfred Tomatis on the ear are also infused in the music. David has spent many years refining the precise type of bass sounds used to vibrate the body (including exact sound envelopes that feel the best). This allows the bass to be maximized on the body in a way that feels soothing and natural. He is fanatical about creating a consistent musical and energetic flow of energy that taps into the deeper rhythms of the human biosystem and is in alignment with the mathematical patterns found in natural flowing systems in nature and Spirit. But most importantly, David brings in the subtle frequencies and energies of love and incorporates them throughout the productions. All of our music is at www.SoundHealingCenter.com/music.html Cymatic Frequencies Our Sound Pods, Vests, Mask/Caps, and Sandals are the ideal transmission devices for these CDs. The Power of Sound for Health and Well-Being Everything is vibration. All parts of our bodies including our emotions are made of frequencies. When you understand the laws of physics that explain how one vibration affects another you gain the Power of Sound to change the world physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. This means there is potential to transform any diseased part of the body, entrain our brain for more restful sleep, more focus and enhanced creative ability, and most importantly to bring us into a high state of emotional awareness and harmony with nature and Spirit. Olympic athletes have been using Vibroacoustic therapies for years in Sweden, Norway and Finland with proven results. All of this means more health, performance and productivity. The vibrational tools we offer have been proven effective through both experience and clinical research. There are two specific applications. First is preparation for an event — creating a relaxed state in the body with extreme focus of the mind. The Sound Lounge with specific music that incorporates brainwave entrainment is ideal for this application. The second application is after an event for relaxation, and pain or injuries. The Sound Lounge is effective for general or systemic issues, and the Bass Pod allows therapeutic frequencies to be applied to specific parts of the body. According to a basic law of physics, which forms the core concept behind all sound healing, a strong vibration will cause a weaker vibration to vibrate at the stronger frequency. This explains how disruptive energy in our outer environment (electricity, cell phones, stressed people around us) or inner stressors (fear and anxiety) overpower our body and emotions, entraining them into incoherent types of vibrations that interfere with the natural functioning of our body systems. Powerful harmonious frequencies, sounds and music overcome the chaotic influences, stabilizing and strengthening the natural equilibrium of our physical body—in cells, nerves, tendons, muscles, bones, organs, and areas of the brain — harmonizing our biological systems back to homeostasis. In this balanced state, we return to optimal functioning. This is also the state where the body heals the most efficiently. Clinical research clearly shows that when we listen to frequencies within the range of a brainwave (epsilon, delta, theta, alpha, beta, gamma) our brain will be entrained into that frequency within a few minutes. These frequencies entrain our brain into states that enhance focus, mental clarity, memory, and creativity. Truly, one of the most important aspects of music is its power to transform our emotions. We know this intuitively and now science is confirming the link between emotional and physical health. Many professionals in the field of healing believe that repressed or blocked emotions are at the root of many of the issues and diseases we manifest. We see this when emotional healing appears to cause symptoms to disappear.
Music produces a response characteristic of relaxation in which autonomic, immune, limbic, endocrine and neuropeptide systems are altered. Likewise it produces desired psychological responses such as reductions in anxiety and fear. Music is now being used in many areas of medicine including labor and delivery, surgery, neurology, psychiatry, pain and stress management, and many others. The military has been using music for PTSD for over 60 years. There are research papers for each of the following benefits: Relaxation and Stress Reduction – Sound and music with consistent low frequencies dramatically lower heart and respiration rates and blood pressure to reduce stress and oxygen consumption. Tests with chemotherapy patients at the Jupiter Medical Center in Florida found the following: 62.8% reduction of anxiety and 61.6% reduction of fatigue for 27 patients in 41 vibroacoustics sessions. Pain Management – There have been a large number of clinical research papers on pain relief, particularly using Vibroacoustic Tables. Low frequency vibrations and any music that entrains the brain into a lower brainwave state reduces pain. Dr. George Patrick measured over 50% reduction of pain and symptoms. Duke University Medical Center also reported significant pain reduction. Also at Duke patients who received vibroacoustic physical therapy following total knee replacements showed increased range of motion. Research papers also show reducing blood pressure, relieving chronic headaches, migraines, and tinnitus. ADD, ADHD and Sleep Enhancement – Binaural beats have proven to be extremely effective in research projects by Dr. Jeffrey Thompson. We also do a treatment that is quite successful by tuning the binaural beats to the person. Music has also been proven to enhance intelligence, learning and IQ, reading and literacy skills, spatial-temporal reasoning, mathematical abilities, emotional intelligence, and improves memory performance, concentration and attention. Performance and Productivity – There are many research papers showing that music improves physical and athletic performance, focus, body movement and coordination. Music also increases productivity and helps fight fatigue. Actual research papers are below. Vibroacoustic Therapies The National Institute of Health and other studies have shown that a treatment on a sound table provide the following: As an additional benefit, vibroacoustics can help people to learn to recognize the state of relaxation and, over time, become able to reach relaxation at will. Vibroacoustics is a great way to learn how to relax and develop relaxation as a daily habit! International studies continue to attest to the effectiveness as an intervention for clinical populations in the treatment of cancer, cardiovascular disease, hypertension, migraine headaches, gastrointestinal ulcers, Raynaud’s disease, Parkinson’s, fibromyalgia, polyarthritis, sports injury, low back pain, neck and shoulder pain, autism, insomnia, depression, and anxiety disorders. Interviews with massage therapists find consistent themes in the use of sound tables to enhance therapies, encouraging muscles, facial and connective tissues to relax more quickly, and increasing the deepness and duration of the massage effects. They often note that it reduces their physical effort, as the sound table is like having an extra set of hands. In addition, enthusiastic clients have a high return rate, and spread positive word of mouth that increases the client base.
